The Daily Tacoma team
If you live in Enumclaw, police want to hear from you. Three people in an early-2000s white, short-body cargo van cut down two automated license plate readers around 12:55 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, the Enumclaw Police Department said. They left the camera equipment behind.

Investigators recovered surveillance footage of the suspects and van, plus soil impressions and an item that may hold fingerprints or DNA. Cutting down the cameras is often called “deflocking,” and the Courier-Herald notes eight cameras were damaged in Covington last August.
“People may disagree about the use of ALPR technology. That disagreement does not authorize someone with criminal intent to destroy taxpayer-funded, city-owned property.”
