About this event

At 6pm at the Covington Aquatic Center community room there will be an introductory class on astronomy led by Steve Case. If you are new to astronomy this is the class you want to go to. He gives an introduction to all thing's astronomy and telescopes. If weather cancels the star gazing, the class will still be presented.

The class ends in time for everyone to drive over to the Covington Community Park soccer fields for the stargazing event. Experienced astronomer volunteers from the Seattle Astronomical Society (SAS) bring their telescopes and binoculars to share with the public. Everyone is welcome including families with children. If weather conditions force cancellation of an event, that news will be posted no later that 4PM the day of the event. If you RSVP, if anything changes you will be notified via email.

It can get quite chilly at night, even in the summer, so layer up and wear warm clothes. It is highly recommended that you bring a camping chair , maybe a blanket, and something hot to drink as you sit and ponder the cosmos.
