About this event

Fall Foliage Festival & Plant Sale Returns to Rhododendron Species Botanical Garden Nov. 7–8

Fall color, unique plants, garden tours and family activities will take center stage Nov. 7–8 when the Rhododendron Species Botanical Garden hosts its annual Fall Foliage Festival and Plant Sale.

The free, two-day festival invites gardeners, plant enthusiasts, families and nature lovers to explore the Garden’s 22 acres of woodland paths during one of the most colorful times of year. Visitors can experience the changing season among Japanese maples, deciduous azaleas, rhododendrons and other plants known for their autumn foliage.

The festival will feature opportunities to shop for unique plants from the RSBG Nursery and specialty plant vendors, along with art and handmade goods inspired by nature and the outdoors. Visitors can discover unusual plants and specialty selections while exploring the Garden’s collections.

Families can take part in a children’s scavenger hunt, while visitors of all ages can enjoy guided fall-color tours and discover some of the Garden’s seasonal highlights. Food and beverage vendors will also be on site throughout the weekend, offering a variety of options for purchase. The Fall Foliage Festival offers a chance to experience the Garden in a different season, when the brilliant spring flowers have given way to rich autumn color, distinctive foliage and the quieter atmosphere of the woodland garden.

The Rhododendron Species Botanical Garden is home to one of the world’s most significant collections of species rhododendrons, along with many unusual companion plants. The Garden’s collections represent plants from across the Himalayas, China, Southeast Asia and other regions.
