About Jazz Dance
Rooted in African traditions, Jazz dance incorporates a wide range of styles including elements of African America vernacular styles, lyrical, commercial, Broadway dance forms. Jazz dance places a strong emphasis on precision, rhythm, isolation, and individual style.
What should my child wear for the class?
If your child already has dance attire, please have them wear that. Otherwise, any non-restricting atheletic-wear is perfect, and socks work great in place of dance shoes! For children with longer hair, please have them pull it off of the face and neck into a bun, puff, or ponytail.
What should I bring?
Please bring a water bottle to stay hydrated.
How early should I arrive?
We reccomend arriving 10-15 minutes prior to your child's class to get settled in.
