INDULGE, a Sip & Savor Experience

About this event

What’s good on Saturday, November 7? A trip around the world without leaving the Harbor.

Hi neighbors! We’d love to invite you to the 7th annual INDULGE, a Sip & Savor Experience, benefiting the Gig Harbor Senior Center, our community’s only senior center.

This year’s theme is “Journey Around the World,” and local chefs are bringing global flavors to Canterwood Golf & Country Club:

Butter Chicken Indian Kitchen with flavors from the Punjab

Canterwood Executive Chef Adonis Witt with Greek mezedes

Nelly’s African Kitchen with bold Tanzanian bites

KettleFish with New England clam chowder

Table 47 with oysters and a nod to France

Gabriela’s Catering & More with a Honduran-inspired charcuterie table

Snuffin’s Catering with Asian street food classics

Simply Sourdough with Mediterranean flair

…and more!

Your ticket includes unlimited tastings from the participating chefs, a beverage tasting token, and entry to the auctions, raffle and games, with live music all evening. You’re also invited to dress to the theme in something inspired by your heritage, your family’s roots or your favorite destination.

Why it matters: the Senior Center is where local older adults find Tai Chi, chair yoga, a walking club, shared lunches, tech help, Mahjong, art, bingo and even a beanbag baseball team. Most of all, they find friendship. As retired Air Force pilot Al Hurst put it, “It’s been a lifesaver for me, quite frankly.”

INDULGE is one of two events that together fund nearly half of the Center’s yearly operating budget, and this year’s goal is $45,000. Guests will also get a first look at plans for the Senior Center’s future permanent home, and the night closes with members sharing how the Center has changed their lives.
