Kuya Max was freed from Tacoma’s ICE detention center after nearly two months in detention and he thanked community supporters and labor groups outside the facility — he held his wife’s hand amid the celebration — marking a focus on the conditions faced by detainees.

Over the weekend, the Coast Guard tall ship Barque Eagle visited Seattle and held free public tours to show its role as a training vessel for new officers.
