CRIME NEWS

  • Tacoma police are investigating a shooting outside Lincoln High School that took place Tuesday afternoon (it is not known if the school is on lockdown) as officers work to determine the circumstances.  FOX 13
  • Tacoma dad Jayda Everett defended the man who sheltered his 2-year-old daughter during an Amber Alert — saying the man tried to help despite being arrested on an outstanding warrant — and confirmed that his daughter was safe.  FOX 13

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Washington State Transportation Commission will hold a meeting from 9:30 a.m. to 10:10 a.m. to set toll rates from $1.20 to $2.40 on the new SR 509 and SR 167 expressways—drivers will pay the maximum only when going north in the morning or south in the afternoon. SR 509 will run from S 188th St in Burien to I-5 near SeaTac while SR 167 will extend from N Meridian Ave in Puyallup to I-5 in Fife to improve access to the airport and freight routes.  KOMO News
