CRIME NEWS
- ➤ On Tuesday, police arrested a 16-year-old as the second teen linked to a shooting that killed a man on Feb. 14 in Tacoma—authorities continue investigating amid a rise in homicide cases this year. KOMO News
- ➤ Authorities arrested Nicholas Miller (26) in Tacoma’s Salishan area after an argument over a social media post led him to shoot two people at a local smoke shop on Sunday evening (he faces charges of first-degree murder, attempted murder, assault and unlawful possession of a firearm). KOMO News
- ➤ Detectives are investigating a homicide that occurred at Coventry Court Apartments in the 1000 block of 76th St Ct E in unincorporated Pierce County near Tacoma—Pierce County Sheriff's Office first posted the report at 6:40 a.m. on March 25—and the case remains open. KOMO News

- ➤ The City of Tacoma launched its redesigned website at tacoma.gov on April 30 with upgrades for navigation, mobile use, refreshed content and accessibility standards. City employee email addresses will switch to @tacoma.gov starting May 9—messages sent to both the old and new addresses will continue to be delivered without interruption. City of Tacoma
- ➤ The City Council passed a motion on April 29 to nominate deputy city manager Hyun Kim as interim city manager; his term is set to begin on June 30 — and will end when a permanent manager is appointed or he is removed by the council.
