CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Body camera footage from March 15 showed Pierce County deputies struggling with an intoxicated passenger during a DUI arrest after a crash near 352nd Street East and Eatonville Cutoff Road East injured a 62-year-old man, and officers arrested the passenger for obstruction and the driver for vehicular assault and DUI as they increased patrols for Saint Patrick's Day—aiming to prevent more serious incidents. ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Weekend storms brought heavy snow to ski resorts in Western Washington, boosting struggling snowpack and freshening slopes — Mt. Baker got 28 inches while other areas saw less. More storms will drop additional snow this week — further improving water supplies and outdoor conditions. KOMO News

- ➤ The Washington State Department of Transportation will close ramps on northbound I-705 and at the SR-509 interchange in Tacoma from March 24 to 28 between 8:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Tacoma Public Works crews will manage detours and repairs while the HEAL team continues outreach services in the area. - ➤ Dozens of boxes of Savage Cat Food distributed in Washington and other states were recalled when a product lot was found to have potential H5N1 contamination that could affect cats and people. The recall covers 66 Large Chicken Boxes (84 oz.) and 74 Small Chicken Boxes (21 oz.) with lot code and best-by date 11152026. FOX 13
