The Detention Lottery: An Immersive Theater Experience

@

The Detention Lottery is a powerful, interactive courtroom drama that brings our immigration system into sharp focus. Community members step into real-life roles – judge, DHS attorney, detainees – to see how chance and policy shaped people’s futures.

By joining this event, you help Southend Indivisible build informed, organized resistance to detention and deportation. Together, we sharpen our advocacy skills, deepen solidarity with targeted neighbors, and prepare for direct action in South King County.

Riverton Park UMC Migrant Arrival Support Program offers a variety of Migrant Support Services to assist migrants in need, including legal aid for immigration issues, translation services, and access to basic necessities such as food, clothing, and shelter. Through this program, our church aims to provide a safe and welcoming environment for migrants and to help them integrate into the local community. However, without funding for this initiative, meeting the growing demand is challenging.

Doors open at 2:30pm. Local attorney / educator Jay Stansell will lead a talkback afterward.

suggested donation; pay what you can.
