About this event
This is a class for those who have no experience with Lyra, or have had only a few weeks or months of classes. We focus on familiarizing you with the lyra, and teach basic upright poses, mounts, and transitions. You’ll learn about the body mechanics by which you get up and stay up in the air: hollow body engagement, double knee and hip hangs, and your “shelves”, among others poses. It’s OK if you can’t pull your body weight up yet! We work on conditioning that helps you get there, and also work with a low-hung lyra so you can focus on the mechanics of specific poses and balance. Most of all, we want you to have fun, feel accomplished, and enjoy the feel of being in a magical hoop up in the air! Take your time in this level - there is so much to learn!
