- ➤ A strong storm system is expected to bring more flooding, downed trees, and power outages to Western Washington early next week as utility crews remain in the field to assess damage; local agencies urge residents to use county apps to monitor updates (sandbag services are available in selected areas). GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Sound Transit's eight-mile light rail extension opened yesterday in Federal Way after a two-year delay from unstable soil issues. Trains now run every eight minutes at peak hours, connecting Federal Way to Seattle and the airport (plans are underway for a Tacoma-Dome extension). FOX 13
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ A new consumer safety report shows that counterfeit toys and smart toys using AI may present hidden dangers such as toxic chemicals and inappropriate conversations with children.
