- ➤ On October 23rd, Washington State Patrol troopers Bonner and Fath rescued an adorable kitten near 96th along Interstate 5 in Tacoma after multiple 911 calls reported the scaredy cat. The kitten was taken to an animal hospital for a quick checkup and now has a forever home with one of the troopers. KOMO News

- ➤ Local nonprofit Mission Outdoors—led by Navy veteran Ladale Herron—raised $3,000 to buy commissary gift cards for military families hit by the federal government shutdown, which has delayed paychecks and threatened SNAP benefits.
