- ➤ Council Member Joe Bushnell said the City is working with Tacoma Fire, Police and Code Enforcement to secure the vacant Fred Meyer site on 72nd Street as the store closes its long-time role in the community. The City is researching interim uses to restore food and pharmacy access and will discuss options with Fred Meyer and the property owner—ensuring safety and support for local residents.
