ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A suspected drunk driver crashed into an active construction zone on SR-16 near Tacoma Narrows Bridge on August 14th — authorities said the driver hit equipment with a small amount of radioactive material that did not spill, leading to the closure of eastbound lanes. FOX 13
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A Tacoma woman who survived a stabbing at Point Defiance Park said she feels strong and relieved after hearing her attacker—Nicholas Matthew—found guilty, adding that she kept every flower and card as a reminder of community care while his sentencing is set for the end of September. KOMO News
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ The Tacoma Arts Commission selected Mari Griffin as Tacoma’s new Poet Laureate for 2025–2027 and she will host poetry readings and workshops to boost the local literary scene.
