CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Tacoma police arrested a 25-year-old man on Friday in connection with a fatal shooting that took place Wednesday just after 7 p.m. at Allenmore Hospital on South Union Street — one victim was pronounced dead and police said the incident began after an altercation at another location. KOMO News
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Tacoma City Council unanimously rejected a proposal to raise the minimum wage to $20 and sent the measure to the Pierce County auditor for review — the initiative missed the Aug. 5 deadline and will not appear on the November ballot. KOMO News
