GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Public Works Department’s Engineering Division will begin the Striping Maintenance Project on July 28 to refresh pavement markings at key intersections and streets throughout Tacoma. Crews will work mostly at night and the work will last until September — drivers should expect temporary no-parking signs along the routes.  City of Tacoma
  • The Tacoma Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on August 6 at no earlier than 5:30 p.m. to review proposed changes to the Historic Preservation Program in the Municipal Code—these updates include criteria for historic district creation, cultural resource protections, demolition reviews and adjustments to property tax incentives. The hearing will be available in person at the Tacoma Municipal Building and online, with extra community sessions on July 24 and July 26 and comments accepted until August 8.  City of Tacoma
