King County prosecutors said scammers posing as bank or IRS representatives have stolen more than $7 million from Washington victims since February 2024 by using phone calls, emails, texts, and pop-ups—targeting seniors and those less familiar with technology.

Tacoma police investigated a homicide after a man was found shot dead near South 88th Street and Pacific Highway on Friday night—officers responded before 11 p.m. but declared the victim dead on scene with no suspects in custody.
