On Father's Day, a Tukwila artist pleaded for the return of her father's stolen ashes (along with $5,000 in prints and artwork) after thieves took them from her truck in late May.

With wildfire season beginning, local officials in King, Pierce, Snohomish and Thurston counties have explained three evacuation levels (Ready, Set and Go) to help residents prepare for emergencies.

Residents are urged to create an evacuation plan and gather essential items if an emergency arises.

Officials warn that hot temperatures this week may drive more people to swim even though some local beaches remain unsafe due to elevated water bacteria levels (check posted advisories) before entering the water.
