- ➤ In Washington, Gov. Bob Ferguson and other leaders criticized the National Guard deployment during ICE protests in downtown Seattle while Pierce County Sheriff Keith Swank defended it, saying local law enforcement should manage protests professionally—officials remain divided over the move. Pierce County Executive Ryan Mello warned that escalated rhetoric could increase risks for both protesters and uniformed personnel. KOMO News
