  • A Pierce County Sheriff's Office K9 helped deputies locate and arrest a 53-year-old man on May 26—he is accused of dousing a woman with gasoline and pointing a gun at her.  FOX 13

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • On May 30, a local marine animal hospital welcomed its first harbor seal pup as seal pup season began. The hospital will care for more pups—ensuring that injured and stranded animals receive proper treatment.  FOX 13

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • City Manager Elizabeth Pauli announced that the recruitment process for a permanent Police Chief is paused to let the new interim leaders guide the decision. The decision supports continuity under Interim Police Chief Patti Jackson and Interim City Manager Hyun Kim — which will help shape a unified approach for appointing the next chief.  City of Tacoma
