- ➤ At Joint Base Lewis McChord, the USO NW serves a monthly spaghetti lunch at the Camp Lewis center to give soldiers a warm break and a place to relax—donations and volunteer efforts keep the service running. The center is housed in a space provided by America's Credit Union and has helped troops feel at home after deployment. KOMO News
- ➤ Thrive International secured a $2M state grant—boosting plans to complete a $10.7M purchase of a converted hotel for refugee housing on South Hosmer Street in Tacoma. The center has been housing 376 asylum seekers, including nearly 200 children, and offers on-site legal and medical support services—officials say the grant moves its mission forward. KOMO News

- ➤ Alaska Airlines announced a new inflight dining program called Chef's (tray) Table that teams up with West Coast chefs to offer new meals on select cross-country flights. CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Seven people were shot at Harry Todd Park in Lakewood Wednesday evening before 8 p.m.—five were found in the park and two walked to the hospital, with two in critical condition while police investigate the incident. KOMO News
- ➤ A pedestrian died after being struck by four vehicles on I-705 near 11th Street on May 28th at 11:27 p.m., and the Washington State Patrol said the roadway was blocked for over four hours—investigators have not yet confirmed whether drugs or alcohol were involved. FOX 13
- ➤ Police responded after 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday morning to reports of an unresponsive man with a possible gunshot wound on South Wilkenson Street and South 37th Street — medics declared he had died at the scene and detectives are investigating his death as a possible homicide. FOX 13
