CRIME NEWS

  • A 25-year-old man was arrested in Gig Harbor for shooting his father and brother—lighting their house on fire.  FOX 13
  • A cold case investigation that started Monday morning in Tacoma is still ongoing today—police continue to probe the case for further clues.  FOX 13

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Gov. Ferguson signed lawmakers’ two-year operating budget into law on May 20th using billions in tax increases to close a multi-billion dollar funding gap. He signed the budget almost a month after the legislative session ended—resolving a months-long process.  FOX 13
  • A Filipino father and longtime legal immigrant detained by U.S. Customs and Border Protection at Sea-Tac Airport for days may be transferred to an ICE facility (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) after his detention began on May 20; officials have not announced when a decision will be made.  FOX 13

HEALTH NEWS

  • A sixth measles case was confirmed in a King County adult who visited both Seattle-Tacoma Airport — Overlake Medical Center while infectious on May 20.  FOX 13

SPORTS NEWS

  • FOX 13 Digital Sports Reporter Curtis Crabtree joined a talk show where panelists recapped the Mariners' strong 10-game road trip, analyzed the Seahawks' schedule and win predictions, and provided an update on the Kraken head coach search—further discussion covered the Storm’s 1-1 start and a controversial flagrant foul involving Caitlin Clark.  FOX 13
