- ➤ Tacoma Humane Society is asking community members to foster dogs as it prepares to renovate 14 kennels, with work set to begin on May 1 and last up to four weeks (the renovations will improve space and safety for the dogs). The shelter, which sees about 68 dogs each week, also reminds the public that National Adopt a Shelter Pet Day is on April 30, making temporary care critical during the construction period. KOMO News
