CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Since March 2024, the FBI reported a rise in laser incidents targeting airplanes near Seattle-Tacoma and Spokane airports—pilots have experienced interference during landings in affected neighborhoods, and local and federal agencies are investigating those responsible. KOMO News
- ➤ A female caregiver accused of sexually assaulting a disabled 19-year-old with the mental capacity of a toddler appeared in Tacoma court on April 23rd—she now faces charges of sexual assault. FOX 13
- ➤ A young man estimated to be 18 to 20 was found dead in a Spanaway cul-de-sac Wednesday at 10:36 p.m. after neighbors reported hearing 20 to 30 gunshots—detectives collected evidence early Thursday and are searching for a suspect while nearby homes were hit by bullets without injuring anyone. - ➤ Since March 2024, multiple laser strikes have endangered pilots near SeaTac and Spokane airports—FBI agents are working with local police to track down those responsible and warn that pointing lasers at aircraft is a federal crime with penalties of up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine. - ➤ Pierce County detectives reopened the case of Laurie Krage, who died in the 1990s and was never reported missing—officials are now seeking clues to determine who killed her. FOX 13
