- ➤ Port of Seattle officials said exporters pulled containers from local terminals—due to tariffs and closed Chinese markets—and are seeking new buyers. Senator Maria Cantwell and Port of Tacoma commissioner John McCarthy warned that this trade shift could hurt Washington wine, manufacturing, and family wage jobs. FOX 13
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Tacoma City Council is asking for volunteer applications for three positions on the Tacoma Creates Advisory Board to help guide funding for local arts, culture, and science programs. Applicants must send their forms to the City Clerk’s Office by May 25 and serve three-year terms with monthly meetings held at the Tacoma Municipal Building — some of which are virtual.
