COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The City of Tacoma and Pierce Conservation District have invited residents to join a volunteer planting event at McKinley Overlook on April 19 from 10 AM to 2 PM to celebrate Earth Day. Volunteers will plant about 550 native plants to improve new garden beds—helping restore urban wildlife habitat and create a greener space.  City of Tacoma

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • After a fatal crash claimed four lives on April 3, local lawmakers will introduce the Andrea Smith Hudson Act to curb repeat speeding—using intelligent speed limiters to keep roads safer.  FOX 13

BUSINESS NEWS

  • SEA officials expect a 5% rise in passengers from April 2 to April 20 with 2.8 million travelers—including 169,000 on Friday and 164,000 on April 11—and advise travelers to reserve parking at least two weeks ahead since TSA checkpoints are busiest before 9 a.m., from 2 to 5 p.m. and from 9 to 11 p.m.  KOMO News

  • Gates Open WA—a nonprofit supporting local artists and musicians—shared its mission on April 3rd to aid local talent.  FOX 13

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Washington filed a lawsuit against RealPage & nine local landlords, accusing them of conspiring to raise rents and break consumer protection laws. The suit seeks to give back money to affected renters and fight the state's housing crisis.  FOX 13
