Community members rallied outside the Northwest Detention Center on Thursday to demand the release of two union members arrested by immigration agents this month, including farmworker leader Alfredo 'Lelo' Juarez who was taken into custody on Tuesday in Sedro-Woolley.

Labor leaders argued the arrests threaten worker rights and urged action so the detainees can return home — a stance supported by local voices.

Tacoma Dome will soon open a new Chick-fil-A stand to serve visitors at dance music events on April 4-5 and will follow the chain’s tradition of closing on Sundays.

The concession is part of broader upgrades that include new security fencing & improved Wi-Fi to enhance the fan experience.

Unions packed in front of the Northwest ICE Processing Center in Tacoma on March 27 to protest the detention of a farmworker activist—who also works as a UW lab technician.

The protest called attention to the detention practices that have raised concerns among community members.

King County Executive Dow Constantine has been named Sound Transit CEO and will begin his role on April 1—his contract runs until December 31 with the option for two additional one-year renewals and a base salary of $450,000.
