CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Lady Gaga, who has won 14 Grammy Awards, announced her Mayhem Ball tour which will include two concerts in Seattle (Aug. 6 and 7) at Climate Pledge Arena. Ticket sales for North American dates will start on March 31 with presales beginning on April 2. FOX 13
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ King County Executive Dow Constantine said he is nearly hired as the new Sound Transit CEO and has accepted a salary of $450,000, even though critics say the process shows insiders helping insiders. He said that if the board approves his appointment today, he will review transit projects like the cross-Lake extension, a new Redmond line opening in early May, and plans in Federal Way while the council begins to find his replacement. - ➤ Due to forecasts of inclement weather, the City of Tacoma postponed two Tacoma Streets Initiative II information sessions planned on March 26 at the South Tacoma and Swasey Library Branches. The City will reschedule the sessions and share new details, with additional meetings planned for April 2 at Fern Hill Library and April 3 at Moore Library. City of Tacoma
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Chomps has recalled nearly 30,000 pounds of beef and turkey meat sticks made between January 16th and 23rd after the USDA said they may contain metal. Consumers who have these meat sticks are told not to eat them and to return or discard the product. KIRO 7
- ➤ A 16-year-old Tacoma resident created a mental health support platform that has reached over 800,000 people by March 26th—she has connected many individuals with much-needed help. FOX 13
