- ➤ A Sequim resident aged 71 lost $125,000 after scammers posing as federal agents tricked her with a claim of an Amazon fraud—Clallam County detectives arrested a Tacoma woman aged 35 on March 12 in a sting operation. KOMO News
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Tacoma City Council is accepting applications for a seat on the Public Utility Board that manages Tacoma Public Utilities—applications must be submitted by March 30th, 2025, by eligible residents. Appointed members will serve a five-year term and complete required public records training within 90 days of their appointment. City of Tacoma
- ➤ South 21st Street between Jefferson and Pacific avenues will close for six to eight weeks starting around March 26 for Phase II of the Prairie Line Trail Project — a plan that began early in 2024 to link the waterfront with downtown. Motorists will detour north to South 15th Street or south to South 25th Street while westbound traffic on Pacific Avenue follows posted signs — real-time updates keep residents informed. - ➤ Tacoma City Council is accepting applications from Tacoma residents to fill six positions on the City Events and Recognitions Committee for Council Districts 3, 4, 5 and At-Large roles.
