CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Tacoma residents will see the full Moon turn red on March 14 when a total lunar eclipse takes place late Thursday night. The eclipse begins at 11:57 p.m. ET and reaches totality at 2:59 a.m. ET Friday—Earth’s atmosphere filters sunlight so only red light lights the Moon. FOX 13
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Tacoma City Council is accepting applications for a Public Utility Board vacancy to help govern Tacoma Public Utilities (Tacoma Power, Tacoma Water, and Tacoma Rail). Applicants must be Tacoma residents reflecting the city's diversity, will serve a five-year term, and must apply by March 30, 2025. City of Tacoma
- ➤ Tacoma City Council is asking residents to apply for three Planning Commission spots (District No. 4, Environmental Community, and Architecture, Historic Preservation and/or Urban Design) to help shape city planning and land use decisions. Applicants must live in Tacoma and submit materials by April 15, 2025 (meetings begin on the first and third Wednesday at 5 PM). City of Tacoma
- ➤ Tacoma City Council is seeking six Tacoma residents for its City Events and Recognitions Committee — which plans city events, funds special projects, and honors community achievements. Applicants must submit their paperwork by April 15, 2025 for district or at-large positions. City of Tacoma

- ➤ Sounders FC was knocked out of the CONCACAF Champions Cup Tuesday in Mexico City when Cruz Azul won 4 to 1 and injuries sidelined Jordan Morris and Paul Arriola.
